“Agenda 21[1] notes that the major cause of the continued deterioration of the global environment is the unsustainable pattern of consumption and production, particularly in industrialized countries. It further notes that while consumption is very high in certain parts of the world, the basic consumer needs of a large section of humanity are not being met. Changing consumption patterns towards sustainable development will require a multi-pronged strategy focusing on meeting basic needs and improving the quality of life, while reorienting consumer demand towards sustainably produced goods and services.”[2]

One of these goods and service is Alternative Source of Energy.  The purpose of producing this type of energy is fundamental to consider and put in practice the implementation of Clean Energy Technologies. These are defined as those technologies that uses no-foil combustion process and whose impact is to substantially reduce greenhouse gas emissions relative to their conventional energy counterparts. It includes wind, geothermal, photovoltaics and other solar technologies.

This idea of using Clean Energy Technologies in small territories are already been successfully exercised.   The small Danish island of Samso, with 4.100 inhabitant in 114 square kilometres, in ten years have converted in a model of sustainable clean energy technology, using Eolic energy for the 100% of is electric energy need and using in on 40% of his calefaction uses, renewable energy.

[3] This graphic is a clear description on how there is a high demand of energy in the residential fragment of the archipelago, in which the people in their homes, are consuming to much electric currant.  This makes a very high impact in the consumption of fuel produced energy on these island.  To produce these level of energy, our environment suffers because of the production of CO2, sulphur and other toxic elements that contaminate the air, plants, soil and all our surrounding.

This critical panorama is an important reason to lock forward to be less dependent on fusil fuel energy, and begging to introduce and develop new energetic technology in order to contribute to the conservation of our environment, and also to thing in the proper use of our natural resources in the production of alternative energy like: solar energy, eolic energy, mareomotriz, thermoelectricity, geotérmical energy and others Clean Energy Technologies.  All in order to produce energy that is in harmony and friendly with our envourment.
